The combination of soft colors and gold glitter is perfect for any celebration – this elegant card can be used for Engagements, Weddings, Retirement and more!
I first cut out the textured pearl cardstock with this background die and adhered that down onto a piece of the gold cardstock. I put double sided adhesive on the back on the pearl Cardstock prior to die cutting – this made it so much easier than having to put glue on all those delicate areas of the die cut!
For the focal point, I wanted to use this beautiful flower die. I did not want to work with all the tiny delicate pieces to this die, I wanted it to stay all together. Instead of using both cutting plates when I die cut this, I replaced one of the cutting plates with an embossing pad.
It did not cut anything out when I ran that through the die cutting machine, but it embossed all of the die cutting lines. There is an outline die that goes with this detail die, so I used that to cut the whole thing out.
Next, we need to add some color! I used a couple brushes to lightly add some corals to the flowers and green to the leaves and stems. It made it easier putting the die cut onto this sticky mat so I didn’t have to worry about holding it down and getting my fingerprints in the ink.
Some of the flower pieces hung over the edge of the card, so I used a craft knife to cut them flush with the edge of the card. I turn the card over and use the card edge to help me get a straight cut.
I used the same technique making the sentiment with ink blending onto the pearl Cardstock so that it matched the flower perfectly.
Once all of that was done, it was time to put the card together! I adhered the flower piece directly onto the panel with liquid glue, and used foam tape to pop up the sentiment.
Thanks for checking out my card today! I would love to see all of your glittery creations!
