Rainbow on Black Background

Hi! It’s Jill from Jill Cameron Creations. Today we are recreating one of my favorite cards I made about a year ago. This time we’re making it on a black background instead of white.

Here is our finished card.

This is our inspiration. This is a great way to make variations of a card design you love.

Start by selecting a rainbow of card stock colors. I am using Pop Tone Card Stock in Blue Raspberry, Razzleberry, Sour Apple, Grape Jelly, Red Hot, Lemon Drop, Orange Fizz, and Black Licorice.

Stamp and heat emboss in clear embossing powder, solid images on each color of cardstock. I used a leafy kind of stamp set that had coordinating dies.

I used the original card to align my sentiment in the best place. Then I stamped the sentiment on my black panel of card stock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

Make sure your embossing powder is all melted and of course it’s the best part of making a card. I never get tired of watching embossing powder melt.

Then, cut all of the images with the coordinating dies. Use a little piece of washi tape to hold your dies in place.

Now comes the fun part…deciding where all of your die cut and embossed elements go on your card front. I used the same layout as the other card. Start with one color and overlap pieces, placing foam squares where needed. Leave a few pieces to hang over the edge. Trim the sides of the panel and adhere to a card base.

For a final touch add Nuvo drops, jewels, sequins, or what ever makes your heart happy.

Be sure to head over to shop and snag some Pop Tone Card Stocks for your next rainbow project.
