Sparkle | Raechelle Bellus

Hi y’all! I don’t know about you, but I find it so hard to believe that we are well into July! I hope you are having a wonderful Summer- making fun memories. 🙂

This month we are featuring Gold or Silver card stock, and I have to confess, I am not a huge fan of gold, but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and use it.

I also have to tell you that I didn’t use a 12×12 sheet of cardstock for the backing- that was created using two sheets of the CCS Gold Glitter Card Stock (along with the cutfile that I purchased in the Silhouette store).

Here’s how I created the base paper for my layout:

Cut each sheet of cardstock into an “L” shape 1-1/2″ in width so you end up with four “L” shapes.

Next, using a sheet of 12×12 Canvas Textured Wedding Cake White Card Stock as your guide, lay the “L” pieces overlapping, to create the 12×12 base (I did trim the ends so as not to have a lengthy overlap, but it’s optional), and then adhere joints together. Note: I did not adhere the gold card stock to the white cardstock, it was just my guide.

Next adhere your patterned paper of choice (trimmed 1/4″ on each side) over the top.

I created a couple of layers under the photo first using Classic Crest Solar White Card Stock (LOVE this stuff!!), followed by Pop Tone Pink Lemonade Card Stock, and finishing off with Peach Discount Card Stock as the final layer, which I distressed a little bit.

That’s it! I completed this layout by layering the cut file over the photo and adding a few acrylic pieces from Bramblefox, and some chipboard stickers.

I hope that you are inspired to step out of your comfort zone! See you again soon. 🙂
