Happy Day!

With all the crazy going on right now I needed something bright and cheery! I love how the AstroBright cardstock works with the softer tones of these older CVS collections. I had perfectly matching Nuvo Drops to go with it!

Starting off, I used Cougar White for the cut file, and for a layer of my photo mat later. I pulled out 2 old CVS collections, Make a Wish and Hello Summer. Along with Astrobright Lunar Blue, and Astrobright Pulsar Pink. Some vellum and acetate for some shakers. I do believe there is some Basis Black under there, for layers of the photo matting. I love how the blue and pink pop out of her outfit with those two colors!

Starting with my cutfile, I used the Blue and Pink for most of the lettering. Using 2 floral patterns from CVS Make a Wish to break apart those brights. The hearts, I used acetate and Vellum, because I am going to turn them into shakers using all different sequin mixes form Speigelmom Scraps! Don’t you just love the difference between the vellum and acetate?

I used a pattern from another CVS Collection, Hello Summer. I love the yellow, the blue and pink really pop off that page. I used all the papers, creating layers on my photo. The final layer is the cougar white with some black ink on the edges.

I used foam tape so the cutfile laid evenly, and then attached it at an angle. I wanted to make sure it was a focal point, other than just the photo. I tried not to cover up the shakers too much, so I added my photo at an angle as well. Now for my favorite part of any layout, the embellishing!

I used the same florals from the Make a Wish collection, that I fussy cut. Some black sequins, of course Nuvo Drops, blue acrylic hearts, and puffy word stickers Using some glitter drops around all the heart shakers really make them pop out!

I don’t know about you, but I love how this all came together. I don’t use a lot of bright colors like this, but I think I’ve been sold to use them some more!
I hope you enjoy this layout, and perhaps inspired you to use some bright colors. I find that amazing things happen when you step outside your box now and again!

Happy Crafting!
