Autumn Days Hybrid Layout

Hi, y’all it’s Laura here from Soul Shine Designs. Today I have a hybrid layout about the turning of leaves. The photo I’m documenting is of a tree outside in my front yard that has changed colors. This photo is from last year. Right now unfortunately doesn’t look like this.

This layout is what is called a hybrid layout. That is where you use digital products like stamps, pattern paper, or embellishments that you print out and use. For this layout, I used digital products from Studio Calico and Humble and Create. I used the Out and About digital stamp set and the Favorite Things physical stamp set from Studio Calico. I also used Sparrow digital elements from Humble and Create.

Photo of planned layout on my computer.

When I do hybrid layouts I like to plan out the layout and size the digital files. That way when I print them out I can cut them out and easily adhere them. There are a lot of free Photoshop alternatives out there to use. I have used GIMP, Photopea, Canva, and Silhouette studio basic version to edit digital elements to what I am documenting.

I used the Royal Sundance and Stardream Metallic Gold cardstock. I printed my photo and title on the Royal Sundance along with the other digital elements. I also stamped onto the Royal Sundance cardstock. I fussy cut out the elements and adhered them down with liquid glue.

Before stamping directly onto my layout I ALWAYS stamp on scrap cardstock first to make sure it stamps well. For the bottom of the layout instead of journaling, I did a mash of just Fall sentiments.

I adhered the layout onto the Stardream Metallic Gold cardstock and my layout is complete. I hope that this inspires y’all to document the changing of the seasons and give hybrid scrapbooking a go.
