We recently went out of state to visit family and had to hire a house sitter to come stay with our house pets. Our house sitter was a responsible young adult who was eager to have a house to herself. I wanted to leave behind a thank you gift that she could use to pamper herself with a spa day. Birgit here with you today, and here’s what I came up with.

I started by creating two farmhouse style crates using 110lb. Royal Sundance Felt cardstock in Natural and Concord & 9th Petals & Pallets die and stamp set.

The die set comes with the crate panel sides and I made the box portion by cutting the Royal Sundance Felt cardstock the length of the crate side plus 3 inches for both ends of the crate. I scored the card stock to create the ends of the crate and cut small notches so they would fold in easily and not add bulk.

The handles on each end were cut out using a small rectangular shaped die. As you can see in the photo above, this cardstock has a nice texture and the heavy weight of the card stock made these crates durable.

I then stamped the woodgrain pattern on each of the three boards and on the ends of the box and assembled them using Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.

Here are the finished crates in two different sizes. Now it’s time to decorate them!

I cut some Echo Park Palm Leaves from Canvas Texture Bonsai and Pop Tones Limeade. The Spellbinders Layered Colorful Blooms are cut using Pop Tones Berrylicious, Blue Raspberry and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card stock.

I assembled the flowers using Tombow Mono Liquid Glue and attached them to the crates. I added some paper fill that I picked up at The Dollar Store and filled them with some lovely self care pampering products.

I really love how these came out and the colors are fresh and clean. What a lovely way to say thank you!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project. Please be sure to visit the Cut Cardstock Facebook page where you’ll find lots of daily inspiration. Thanks so much for stopping by! ~ Birgit
