3D Treasure Chest Treat Box

When one of my dear friends and neighbor asked me to make a bunch of paper treasure boxes for an event she was speaking at, I happily obliged! I love making paper boxes and other 3D projects. The event was for a group of girls and finding their self-worth….hence the treasure box! Check out how to make it:
Supplies Needed
–Gold Glitter Cardstock
–Curious Metallic Cardstock in White Silver
–Tombow Liquid Adhesive
-die cutting machine
I cut out the treasure box design with my Silhouette Cameo machine. I placed the glitter face-down on my cutting mat and got a perfect cut! The design is by Lori Whitlock and can be found in the Online Silhouette Design Store.

Check out how beautiful this gold glitter is!

I then folded along all the perforated lines of the paper.

Then using some Tombow adhesive, I added glue to the silver accent pieces.

The extra silver pieces add more weight to the box, and also add a little extra dimension which I love.

Repeat for the side silver pieces.

Then take the box and carefully fold it together and put the tab in place. What’s neat about this box is the sides fold more inward than the rest of the box. Snazzy, right? My neighbor filled hers with special chocolates that had inspirational thoughts on them. They worked out perfectly!

Cut Cardstock has SO many beautiful gold and silver cardstock on sale this month. What shimmery and glittery creation are you going to create next? I’d love to hear!
