Stitched Wine Bottle Tags
It’s the Holiday Party Season! Whether you’re participating in a company’s gift exchange or going to a neighbor’s shindig, the easiest gift might be bringing your favorite bottle of wine. Take it up a notch with one of these beautifully-stitched bottle tags!

This easy DIY project uses the following materials:
- Red cardstock (I used Pop-Tone Wild Cherry)
- Green cardstock (I used one of the greens from the Core’dinations Gorgeous Greens assortment)
- White cardstock (I used Classic Crest Recycled in Bright White)
- Tombow Mono Liquid Glue
- Embroidery floss in matching red and green colors
- Sewing needle
- Scissors
- Silhouette CAMEO
- Silhouette cutting mat
First, I designed the bottle tags with Silhouette Studio software. I used my Silhouette CAMEO‘s Print & Cut feature to print out any messaging I wanted directly on the bottle tag. Then, I used the Cut feature to cut out the bottle tag shape. I also cut out certain words from colored cardstock.
Note: You certainly don’t need a Silhouette to make this project. You can use markers/crayons to draw your design and scissors to cut out your bottle tag.
Tip: I suggest making your bottle tag width as wide as your bottle. My tags were about 3 inches wide.

Next, I glued the colored words diecuts to the bottle tag with Tombow Mono Liquid Glue.
TIP: For cutout letters, use the opposite piece as a stencil and it will help your letters stay aligned.

Once dried, I used the sewing needle to poke holes about 0.125in apart.

Now it’s time to stitch!
First, I threaded three strands of embroidery floss through my needle and tied the ends.
Next, I used the chain stitch because I love how “full” the stitching looked. Here’s a great YouTube video showing you how to do a chain stitch if you’re a visual learner like me. You can, of course, use any stitch you’d like! Be creative!

Then you’re all done! Hang that beauty on the bottle and go have some holiday fun!
