Spooky Sunburst!

It’s almost October and that means the ghosts and ghouls will be getting ready for Halloween. Hi, Sharon here, and Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I’m going to be sharing how I made these Spooky cards.

I am using digital cutting files From Crafting with Sarah. They are both A7 cards but you can modify the file to fit an A2 if you wish.

The first card is the cute ghost, I used Pop-Tone Cardstock in Grape Jelly, Orange Fizz and Black Licorice. The little ghost is Classic Crest solar white 80lb and my base is Classic Crest Solar White 110lb.

Make your base by cutting the Solar White 110lb to 10x7in, score and fold at 5in.

Next you need to cut all the pieces in the colors you have chosen. My main piece for the ghost is black, this fits perfectly on the front of the card base. I use Tombow Mono Liquid Glue for most of the pieces but Foam Dots for my ghost.

The black and white pieces of the ghost need gluing flat so I use wet glue for this.

Fitting the colored pieces is easy but make sure if you are using two colors you alternate them and you have the pieces the right side up. I’m starting with the purple.

Once these are in place add the orange pieces.

The final part of the card is to add your ghost; using foam dots gives him dimension.

I think the card needs a sentiment, Using a Spellbinder’s die I cut the letters Boo! from the Grape Jelly Cardstock.

I constructed the bat card in almost the same way. I am switching out some of the colors though so my bat is black not my card. Gumdrop Green is my choice for the rays.

Can you spot my mistake on my bat card?

Yes my top right Orange Fizz section is upside down so you can see the white of the base.

The bat for this card is only one layer, so just add him with Foam Dots.

The sentiment and using also includes Eek! which is great for the bat.

Finally the bat needs eyes – I am adding neon green gems but you could use a white gel pen if you choose.

Which do you prefer – the batty card or the ghostly one?
