Good morning to you all! It’s Kristie Larsen here and today I wanted to share some CutCardStock.com sparkle and shine with you. I made up an easy card. So easy in fact you can quickly make it into a card set to give away as a gift!
I started with this size A7 Stardream Metallic prefolded card base. It is such a lovely copper color. They have every color under the sun in the store. Lovely shiny colours! And, they are all ON SALE now!!
I started by running it through my die cutting machine with an embossing folder. Now the cool thing is if you run the whole card through folded it will emboss the ENTIRE card in one shot. Talk about fast!
Then I cut it in half and then in half again to give me 4 panels. Also, the cool thing about that is they come out the perfect size to add to an A2 card base. No other trimming necessary. Because of the nature of the embossing folder two of these panels are embossed and two are debased. But all are gorgeous when finished!
I then die cut a slew of sentiments out of the Esse Textured black card stock and glued 4 together for each card.
I then adhered them to the card panels and added a clear glue to the top of the sentiment to make it shine, as well as some rhinestones for a sparkly touch.
To package the cards I put them in a clear box that I had in my stash and tied a bow across it. I placed a second ‘bow’ into the first one for some added bulk. Let me show you how:
I started with a smaller strip of black ribbon and pulled in the two sides and adhered it with some double sided tape. Glue lines and dots would work good to.
Then as I was tying the first bow I slid this second one in and tied it tight.
You can see here it gives some added fullness to the look. I trimmed the edges of the ribbon into a banner flag style. (is that what you call it?)
Here is a shot of the finished card. In the box I put in 4 Stardream Onyx envelopes too. They too are shiny and beautiful!
Here is the set of 4 together. Easy and fast! I rounded the corners of each panel and popped them up using foam adhesive onto the Esse textured black card stock. I love that stuff. I use it all the time. It’s a really great item to have in your supplies stash.
And that’s it! A nice shimmery and shiny card set to give to a friend. I think these would be a perfect gift for a new bride. They are so elegant and lovely and what new bride wouldn’t want some hand made cards to send out to guests? Well, now I just need to meet me a bride so I can give it to her! 🙂
Thanks for spending a little bit of time with me today. I hope you found something fun here. Be sure to check out the store. There are all sorts of shimmery and shiny things on sale that will round out your crafting stash!
