Sunflower Card with Matching Envelope

When was the last time that you received a handwritten card or letter?
Did it make you smile and feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside?
I know the last time I got one was almost a year ago, and I remember who it was from. As a matter of fact, I still have that card sitting on my desk. Hi y’all! Misty (@Mommyofkidz) here with you today sharing a cad that I made in hopes of sending it to someone who needs to be reminded how amazing they are!

Mission: Make Someone Smile!

First, I gathered my materials that I thought I would need for the envelope and the card. Once I had everything together, I started the process of cutting, assembling, and gluing it all down.
For the Card, I used the Stardream Metallic CRYSTAL (white)for the base. For the leaves, I used one of my favorites, Stardream Metallic FAIRWAY (green)To top it off, the Lessebo SUNFLOWER YELLOW  was the obvious choice! Finally, once all my pieces were cut on my Cricut Maker, it was time to add in my signature “lazy girl” stitches. I admit, this girl is a lazy crafter! While I love the look of sewn stitches, I hate the time and effort it takes to make it happen. Therefore, I hand draw! Hence, Lazy Girl Crafter! Don’t believe me? Take a peep at how I set up my mat for my Cricut cuts. Rather than using three or 4 different mats, I color block onto one mat. LAZY!!! 🙂

Next, it was time to do the envelope. For this, I used a Stardream Metallic No. 10 Square Flap Envelope.
PSSSSSttttttt: Pro Tip!! This envelope along with many others are in the closeout section in the CutCardStock Store! ALSO…it is on additional sale this week! In addition to the envelope, I also used a bit of Simple Stories paper, ribbon, an acrylic Glitter assortment, and of course, a border punch. (two different ones actually)

Mission: Accomplished

After assembling the card and envelope, I added in the glitter, ribbon, Nuvo Drops, etc for added visual enhancements. These things are not really required, I just honestly enjoy doing it! Below is a couple of closeup images of the final results after assembly. Nothing spectacular…just something sorta special to help someone find a smile!

Unfortunately, the handwritten letter being sent via snail mail is a lost “Art”. It is a very rare occasion, and even more rare to receive a handcrafted card. I want those days back again! Who is with me?? Let’s make it a movement!…I mean, why not? 🙂
Anyway, now that it is complete, it is time to write in this beautifully crafted card.
I hope this matching pair brings a smile to my intended recipient! I also hop that I have inspired you in some way today! If so, Head on over to the CutCardStock Store and grab up the materials for your next crafty project! OH…and don’t forget the Closeout envelopes are on sale this week!
