A great way to set the mood for any event is with a fantastic invitation. There are many options for everything from the everyday casual to the elegant at CutCardStock.com. Here is a fun way to invite guests over to a spooky celebration for Halloween….
Supplies:
Greengrocer’s No 10 String & Button Kraft envelopes
Greengrocer’s Kraft 65# cardstock
Halloween themed patterned paper and stamps
Paper cutting and scoring tools
Ribbon & adhesives
Text program such as Microsoft Word
For the invitation to fit in the envelope, I created a basic folded card from a cardstock piece I cut to size 8 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ so it will fit in the No. 10 envelopes; I scored it lightly and folded it in half. Would you rather work with prefolded invitations? There are many to choose from here.
I created the wording for inside the invitation. I typed the words I wanted inside of a text box that was just smaller than my card. When it came time to print, I cut my patterned paper to fit in my printer and removed the outline on the text box. I trimmed the printed paper to the right size and adhered it into my card.
For the front of my invitation, I just pieced the two Halloween patterns to cover. I left myself enough room to stamp the Trick or Treat image.
I love a little ribbon on my cards. Sometime I will wrap it just around an element, but other times I like it to wrap around the entire card front. An easy way to make that work in an invitation like this is to create a small slit to allow the ribbon to sneak through the fold.
To finish the front a bit, I just used a fine pen to draw in some stitching lines and extend the banner of my stamped image all the way to the edges of the paper. So maybe it’s not such a spooky invitation…. but it sure is cute!
That's adorable!
