Simple Fall-themed Scrapbook Layout using a Cut File
Fall layouts don’t have to be complicated to make a big impact. I had minimal paper and ephemera leftover from a fall collection and was unsure of how create a layout with what I had leftover. The perfect answer to my conundrum was to utilize a large cut file on the layout. Today, I’m sharing a simple fall-themed layout using a cut file backed with beautiful CutCardStock papers!

Supplies
- Black Cardstock
- Burgundy Cardstock
- Green Cardstock
- Orange Cardstock
- Electronic die cut machine
- Stacked pumpkin cut file (the one shown in the layout is from Cricut Design Space)
- Fall-themed pattern paper and cardstock stickers
- Glue/adhesive
- Craft foam
Backing the Cut File
First, I chose my cut file by searching for stacked pumpkin cut files in Cricut Design Space. There were a ton of options to choose from, but I really enjoyed the floral design that I saw on the cut file I ultimately chose. Next, I cut the cut file out on the Black Cardstock using my Cricut Maker. I opted for black since I felt this would work better with my pattern papers because they had a lot of black elements as well.

Next, I focused on the little floral details in the design. I backed the flowers and berries with the Burgundy Cardstock and the leaves with the Green Cardstock. Once those little floral elements were backed, I backed the entire cut file with the Orange Cardstock. The orange gave the entire pumpkin cut file a beautiful pop of color and contrasted nicely with the flowers and leaves.

Building the layout
First, I tore the fall words pattern paper and adhered it to the buffalo check pattern paper. Next, I triple mounted my photograph using the Orange Cardstock, Burgundy Cardstock, and a fall pattern paper scrap. Then, I adhered it to the right side of the layout.

I added craft foam to the back of the cut file and adhered it down approximately in the center of the layout near the bottom. The craft foam helped give the cut file even more dimension. Next, I built a little fall scene at the bottom right of the cut file using cardstock stickers. Additionally, I placed craft foam on some of the cardstock stickers to add more depth and dimension.

Finally, I added cardstock stickers to the top of the layout. First, I added a floral, pumpkin and word phrase sticker to the stacked pumpkin cut file. Lastly, I added the title “Fall is My favorite” using cardstock stickers.

Sometimes a simple layout is all you need to capture your favorite fall memories. And when your supplies are limited, cut files can really fill that gap for what you may lack in supplies! I hope you too will create a simple fall-themed layout using a cut file as well! Happy paper crafting!
