Wedding Keepsake

Hi friends, happy Wednesday! Well, it’s June and lots of weddings are happening around us. Leslie here, sharing a fun wedding-inspired 3D pop-up vignette that folds flat for mailing. Such a fun wedding keepsake! I used a nice variety of our cardstock to cut the (gazillion) pieces which I’ll list below. I’ve added a sentiment/signature card held inside with a magnet for the presenter to write a custom message and sign. So let me show you how this came together!

Cut All The Pieces

Using a 3D vignette die set in my stash, I cut the pieces from the following cardstock:
Stardream Metallic Bronze: Car body (front and back), windshield frame, inserts and insert tabs; Silver: Grill background, Just Married plate
Bright Silver Foil: Bumpers (front and rear), grill, light housings (front and back), emblems (front and back), spare tire wheel
Classic Crest Recycled 100% Classic Natural White: Spare tire ‘white wall’, dashboard
Glama Kraft: Back seat
Light Yellow: Bride’s hair
Pop Tone Hot Fudge: Groom’s hair; Black Licorice: Tires, groom’s tux, Just Married plate background; Gumdrop Green: Bridal bouquet leaves
Poodle Skirt Pink: Flowers in bridal bouquet
Pink Tutu: More flowers in bridal bouquet, bride’s veil, groom’s boutonniere
Classic Crest 80# Solar White: Bridal bouquet holder, veil, headlights, side mirrors, tail lights (colored with red marker). Also: Both bodies, bride’s arm (colored with flesh tone marker)

Front Panel Assembly

Due to the large number of die cut pieces, I chose to assemble the panels prior to taking photos. Didn’t want to lose any of the pieces! Used wet glue to assemble the front panel. Added tiny black gemstones to the flower centers to tie in the color of the groom’s tux. Additionally, I added a second layer to the bride’s arm for stability.

Back Panel Assembly of Wedding Keepsake

Continued using wet glue to assemble the back panel. More tiny black gemstones were used for the flower centers with larger ones on the Just Married plate. Cut the tail lights from white cardstock which I colored with a red marker.

Side Tabs & Inserts

Accordingly, I used a strong double-sided tape to adhere the side tabs. This wedding keepsake will undoubtedly be folded and unfolded many times and we don’t want it to come apart. Afterwards, the three inserts were put into place.

Complete the Wedding Keepsake

Finally, using the die in the set for the inserts, I cut a sentiment/signature card from Solar White. Trimmed the card down and stamped a sentiment in brown ink. Then I affixed it to the inside of the very back with a magnet. Left room on the back to write a custom message and sign, making this wedding keepsake even more special!
