How to Create a Limited Edition Birthday Card

Hello, CutCardStock fans! Leslie here, and thanks so much for joining me on the blog today! Who doesn’t need birthday cards in their stash? If you’re like me, you never have ‘just the right one,’ so I love to have a variety. The card I’m sharing with you today features gold glitter cardstock along with some gorgeous bright colors to pack a powerful punch!

I cut a standard size A2 top fold card base from Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and rounded the bottom right corner. I cut the background panel from Pop-Tone Wild Cherry cardstock. I cut strips from CCS Gold Glitter cardstock along with pieces from Pop-Tone Orange Fizz cardstock, Pop-Tone Razzleberry cardstock, and the Wild Cherry cardstock for the card front and narrow strips to embellish the inside of the card base.

I adhered the strips to the background panel in alternating colors with glitter strips in between. The glitter strips used here measure 1/4″ and the colored pieces measure 3/4″. The narrow strips shown on the right are reserved for the inside of the card; I didn’t measure them. I changed my other mind and decided not to use the ‘thank you’ ephemera for my sentiment, so pretend you don’t see it, lol. 😉

I ended up cutting six additional narrow glitter strips and adhering them diagonally across the colored pieces for a little added interest and extra glittery goodness. I die cut a double-stitched oval, stamped the sentiment in Versamark, and heat embossed it in gold. This replaced the ‘thank you’ ephemera pictured above that I decided not to use on this project.

I adhered the narrow strips on the inside of the card base and stamped the birthday sentiment in red ink.
