Easy DIY Encouragement Card

Hello crafty friends – Annie here with an easy DIY encouragement card idea. It is a simple yet meaningful way to lift someone’s spirits and remind them they’re not alone. By creating a card using your favorite CutCardstock, stamps, or dies, you can a design a card that feels personal. Accordingly, small details like shimmer spray, dimensional foam, or a few rhinestones can give it that extra touch. In the end, it’s not about perfection. It’s about creating something from the heart that brings comfort and encouragement to someone who needs it most.

Supplies Used

Cardstock:

My Stash:

  • Elizabeth Crafts Die Set: Swirling Sparrow
  • Imagine Crafts Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray (Gold)
  • Sentiment Stamp
  • Various Dies (Dotted Rectangle, Sentiment Strip)
  • Bearly Art Glue & Foam Strips
  • Tiny Gold Rhinestones

Create the Card Base

Firstly, trim the Neenah Classic Crest Solar White Cardstock to create an A2 card base (4.25″ x 5.5″). Set aside.

Die Cut the Background Panel

Secondly, use a dotted rectangle die to cut a panel from DSC Light Yellow Cardstock. This adds subtle detail and frames your design beautifully.

Die Cut the Focal Image For Easy DIY Encouragement Card

Thirdly, die cut the Swirling Sparrow base from the DSC Aqua Cardstock. Also die cut the outer decorative pieces from DSC Patriot Blue. Adhere the pieces of the sparrow using Bearly Art Glue.

Assemble the Card Front

Afterwards, glue the yellow panel onto your card base. Now, attach the bird on top using foam strips for dimension.

Add Shimmer & Texture To Easy DIY Encouragement Card

Lightly splatter the yellow panel with Imagine Crafts Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray (Gold). Let it air dry or heat set for faster results. Doing this gives that soft, gold splatter shine seen in the card.

Adhere the Sentiment

Fourthly, stamp your sentiment on the Solar White cardstock. Die cut or trim this into a strip using your sentiment strip die. Pop it up with foam strips across the center of the card.

Finishing Touches To Easy DIY Encouragement Card

Lastly, add some tiny gold rhinestones around the design for sparkle and balance.
