Spring Has Sprung Card!
There’s something so timeless and cheerful about a handmade floral card—and this layered tulip bouquet card is the perfect way to celebrate spring, birthdays, or just because! Sweta here. This project highlights the beauty of textured cardstock, soft ink blending, and dimensional die cutting using premium papers from CutCardStock.
As part of the design team, this project focuses on combining vibrant colors with subtle texture to create a bouquet that truly pops off the card!
✂️ Step-by-Step Instructions
🌼 Step 1: Die Cut All Elements

Begin by die cutting all the individual elements for your bouquet:
- Tulip flower heads from
👉Astrobright Solar Yellow Cardstock - Greenery and stems from
👉DCS Texture Pearl Green Curry Cardstock - Bouquet wrapper layers from
- 👉DCS Raspberry Ice Pink Cardstock
- 👉Canvas Textured Pink Tutu Cardstock
The combination of smooth and canvas textures adds beautiful visual interest right from the start.
🎨 Step 2: Add Ink Blending for Depth

To give the florals a more natural, realistic look:
- Lightly ink blend the edges of the tulip petals using warm tones (pink or coral works beautifully).
- Add soft shading to the greenery using a deeper green ink.
- Blend a bit of pink onto the bouquet wrap for added dimension.
This step enhances the die cuts and brings them to life with subtle gradients.
🧩 Step 3: Assemble the Bouquet

- Begin layering the tulip petals to form full blooms.
- Glue stems and leaves together.
- Assemble the bouquet wrap using both pink tones for contrast.
Use foam tape in select areas to create dimension—especially behind the flowers and wrapper folds. This helps the bouquet feel full and layered.
🌤 Step 4: Create the Background Panel

- Trim a smaller panel from Classic CREST Smooth 130 lb Solar White Cardstock
- Blend a soft blue ink in the center to create a subtle sky-like background.
- Add light splatters for a fresh, artistic feel.
This simple background helps the bouquet stand out while keeping the design clean and elegant.
💐 Step 5: Final Assembly
- Arrange and adhere the tulips and greenery into the bouquet wrap.
- Use foam adhesive to attach the entire bouquet onto the background panel.
- Mount everything onto an A2 card base created from the same Solar White cardstock.
✨ Step 6: Finishing Touches
For that extra special touch:
- Add glitter gel to the petals and bow for sparkle.
- Adjust layers slightly to enhance dimension and movement.
These small details elevate the entire design and make the card feel extra special.

This layered tulip bouquet card is a wonderful way to showcase the versatility of cardstock from CutCardStock. From bold florals to delicate textures, each element works together to create a card that feels both vibrant and elegant.
Perfect for spring, birthdays, or Mother’s Day, this design is easy to customize with your favorite colors and finishes!
Until next time, stay crafty!
