Spring Birthday Card for Gardeners
Hello, friends! Are any of you fellow gardeners? Toni here and I love this time of year. My early spring flowers are popping up and my summer ones are starting to think about it.

For this spring birthday card, I had planned to cut the seed packet from Cougar White cardstock. However, my eye was caught by a piece of metallic cardstock on my desk. Can you watercolor on that even though it’s not a watercolor paper per se? That’s a resounding yes! Although I used Curious Metallic Virtual Pearl paper, the text weight Stardream Metallic Quartz paper is an excellent substitute and watercolors well too.
Do take note that I used Zig Real Brush markers where a little color goes a very long way so I hardly used any water. I worried a bit about warping the paper but it did just fine. Woo hoo!

I cut a variety of stems from Pop Tone Gumdrop Green, Pop Tone Sour Apple, and Discount Sand Castle Tan cardstocks. These I placed randomly beneath the seed packet which I had mounted on a Cougar White 110lb card front I had embossed with a basketweave pattern.
To create the sentiment banner, I sponged a piece of Pop Tone Orange Fizz with Catherine Pooler Rockin’ Red ink. It really pops and goes so well with the orange tulips, don’t you agree? I allowed it to dry fully before embossing it with the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card. For a full list of products used on this project, be sure to visit my blog.
