Valentine Hanger Box

Valentine’s Day is so much fun to give special friends and loved ones surprises. In my household, I have 2 men who like surprises but are not keen on all the feminine styles out there for the holiday. CutCardStock to the rescue! The masculine colors of red, black and white are perfect for my guys and allow for a clean, crisp look. Hi, I’m Maureen (A Little Mo Crafty) and let me show you how to assemble this quick project!

Start with a small handle gift card box cut. I have found several that work well for this project. The one I’m using is an older Sizzix die cut; however, in your electronic machines you can search for “small gift box” or “box with handles.” So many options to choose from.

Assemble the box according to its instructions. For extra sturdiness, I recommend hot glue or a secure wet glue instead of runner tape. I’ve chosen Stardream Metallic Jupiter Red for this.

Next, take the front handle of the box and cut it off. This allows for an open front while keeping the back handle for a hanger.

Cut out a sentiment in Lessebo Pitch Black and a bow shape too. I am using a small die cut but this can be a ribbon if you prefer. Cut a small heart in Stardream Metallic Pluto White. Assemble the bow by curling the sides around a small pen. Use wet glue or hot glue to hold it in place.

Trim a strip of Stardream Metallic Pluto White to the width of the box. In my case, it is 3″ by 4″ in width. Glue the sentiment to the top of the strip. Then glue the strip to the front of the box.

Fill the box with assorted tissue paper, candies and other goodies as desired. Hang the box on a door handle or hook for your recipient.
