Gingerbread House gift box
Hello friends, Melissa here with the cutest Gingerbread House Gift Box! I could have gone more with the decorations and embellishments but I kept this pretty simple for this post. I don’t want to take away from the great cardstock that I used. Are you ready to get into this? Let’s gather some supplies.
Materials
- Neenah Classic Crest Solar White
- DCS Ginger Snap
- Specialty card from my stash
- Homely Hugs dies from Tonic Studios
- Nuvo Drops from Tonic Studios
Die Cutting
The first step is you’re going to die cut all your pieces. My tutorial today isn’t really focused on how to put the box together. The die set comes with instructions and there are plenty of YouTube videos available. This is just to show you how to use CutCardstock cardstocks for your projects. Ginger Snap was the absolute perfect shade for this box to make a gingerbread house.

Construction
Okay, next step, let’s get the box put together. You’ll assemble the box per the instructions or follow a great video tutorial.
In the below picture, this is the box before we put the final two sides on. You may want to hold off adding the sides for decorating purposes. Sometimes it’s best to decorate while the project is still flat. But that’s entirely up to you.

Decorating
Now that we have the box is put together, let’s get to the fun part of decorating it. Add on the windows, roof and chimney. You can even add a bit of decoration to the chimney or leave plain as I did and glue on a wisp of some cotton to look like smoke coming from the chimney. The possibilities are truly limited to your imagination.

Don’t forget to add your drops – I used red glitter drops from Nuvo, I believe they’re called Ruby Slippers. These add the perfect amount of glitter and shine. Maybe pull out some more dies so you can foliage or flowers to the window boxes. Add some scrolly things to look like icing. Or little circles cut from glitter card to look like gumdrops.

Here’s what the box looks like opened, revealing it’s 2 tiers. And the white ric-rack I added for icing. Isn’t this cute?! I plan on filling the bottom with Walker’s shortbread cookies and the top with some tea bags.

As I said, I could have gone way over the top with the decorations and I may go back and add more when I’m ready to give this to my dear neighbor. But I truly hope is that I’ve inspired you to look at your die collection or maybe even cut files that you have access to and create something truly magical and memorable for your gift giving this season.
