Gifts From The Garden #2
Good morning CutCardStock friends! Birgit here with you today, with my second installment of Gifts From The Garden. As I mentioned in my last post, I enjoy gardening as much as I do paper crafting. When I can combine the two, I’m a happy girl! Today, I’ll be sharing with you a delightfully fun way to share more gifts from your garden.

If you’ve ever grown zucchini, then you know that they are generally very prolific in producing fruit. I’m always looking for ways to gift zucchini, and these little bread boxes are just right for sharing small loaves fresh from your oven.

The Supplies:

Today’s project uses 80# DCS Scottish Highlands Green, 80# DCS Granny Smith Green, 83# Lessebo Sunflower Yellow, 80# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and 1/4″ Double Sided Score-Tape. The floral die set is from Spellbinders.
Making the Box:

To begin with, I cut the DCS Scottish Highlands Green to measure 10″ x 7 1/2″, and scored each side at 2 1/4″.

Next, I cut the scored lines on the short sides, so that the 10″ sides have no slits cut. I set this aside while I cut scalloped strips out of decorative cardstock from my stash.

Two strips of cardstock were cut to measure 1″ x 5 1/2″ and two short strips were cut at 1″ x 3″. I then used a scalloped die to cut the decorative edge.

Following that, I scored the straight edge on each scalloped strip at 1/4″. I applied the 1/4″ Score-Tape to the 1/4″ scored section of each strip and adhered them to all four sides of the box, with the scallops facing the outside of the box.

Next, I applied the Score-Tape to all four corner flaps of the box as seen in the photo above and assembled the box.

Decorating the Box:

To decorate the box, I cut the flowers out of Lessebo Sunflower Yellow and Neenah Classic Crest Solar White. I also cut the corner leaves out of DCS Granny Smith Green.

I layered the yellow flowers with the smaller petals on top of the larger petals and topped them with a Granny Smith Green center and popped up the petals to add dimension. Just look at how wonderfully the sturdy cardstock holds up for projects like this.

Using Tombow Mono Multi-purpose Liquid Glue, I adhered the floral elements to both sides of the box.

To finish the project, I cut a tag out of Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock and used it to label the zucchini bread.
The Completed Project:

Sweet breads make a great gift, especially when packaged in such a delightful way, and the boxes can be reused and filled with other great things like lotions and bath gel, nail care items or other small gifts. The possibilities are endless.
