Quick Sunflowers Birthday Card
Is it hot in your neck of the woods? Maybe you’re not feeling very crafty as a result. Or maybe you’re spending time outside enjoying the sun and don’t have a lot of time to craft? Toni here and if you answered yes to any of these questions then this quick sunflowers birthday card is perfect for you.

the card front
For the card front I trimmed down a piece of Bazzill Marble Robin’s Egg 12×12 cardstock to A2 size. I love the swirls of color on this paper. They’re visually interesting but not so busy that elements layered on top are lost.
Next, I die cut a sunflower coverplate from Pop Tone Lemon Drop cardstock. I considered cutting the coverplate a second time out of Lessebo Coffee Bean cardstock for the flower centers, and a third time out of Pop Tone Sour Apple cardstock for the leaves. It’s not sounding like that quick of a card now, is it?

Instead, I opted to sponge the flower centers and leaves with Catherine Pooler Lime Rickey and Icing on the Cake inks. Notice how my sponging is quite free and loose (and quick!). I popped up the blossoms on foam dots with the time I saved by sponging.
The sentiment
My last step was the sentiment. As I mentioned, I love that Bazzill Marble Robin’s Egg 12×12 cardstock and wanted to avoid covering it up more than the coverplate already does. I searched my stash and found a Waffle Flower Love Thanks sentiment that was the perfect size to serve as an alternate flower center. I stamped it onto Pop Tone Lemon Drop cardstock using Catherine Pooler Macchiato ink. Voila!
