Happy Valentine Cracker Box Tutorial

Hello crafty friends! It’s Tiffani from A Krafting Alley, and today on the blog I’m sharing how I made this fun Happy Valentine Cracker Box. This handmade 3D box is perfect for holding bigger Valentine’s Day treats, or use it as a cute decorative piece for a table or gift display.

I created this project using an SVG file I designed and cut all of the pieces with my electronic cutting machine.

Supplies Used

Let’s Get Crafting

I started by cutting out all of my pieces using my Silhouette Cameo 5 with the electrostatic mat.

  • The two box base pieces were cut from 12×12 sheets of Cougar White cardstock.
  • The flagged ends and frame pieces were cut from Amaranth Pink cardstock.
  • The rectangular background pieces were cut from Bubblegum cardstock.
  • The decorative hearts and tulip were cut from Grape Jelly cardstock.
  • Finally, I cut the sentiment using black permanent adhesive vinyl.

Using vinyl for the sentiment made it easy to keep all the letters in place and quickly adhere them to the cardstock background, but black cardstock works just as well if you prefer that option.

Assembling the Cracker Box

First, I used a bone folder to gently fold along the score lines on the white box base pieces. This helped shape the box and made it easier to decide which sides would be the front and back.

Next, I used liquid glue to adhere the Amaranth Pink frame pieces on top of the Bubblegum pink rectangles. Once those were put together, I glued the purple hearts and tulip onto the framed pieces.

After that, I applied the vinyl sentiments to the blank rectangular pieces I had already assembled. Then I glued all of the decorated rectangular panels onto the box base.
At this step, you could also use foam tape instead of liquid glue if you’d like to add some extra dimension.

I then glued on the decorative flag ends.
Note: You can also choose to leave one side plain and just use the rectangular panels, like shown on one side of the box in the photos.

Final Assembly

Once all of the decorating was finished, I folded the box into the classic cracker box shape and glued the two ends together to hold the structure in place.

For the final touch, I grabbed some ribbon and tied the ends of the box to finish it off.

Final Thoughts

And there you have it — a fun and festive Valentine’s Day Cracker Box that’s perfect for treats, gifts, or table décor! I hope this project inspires you to make one of your own.

If you give this project a try, please let me know — I’d love to see your version!
