“Happy Fall” Banner – Perfect for Autumn & Thanksgiving

Hey crafty friends! 🍂 It’s Tiffani here from A Krafting Alley, and today I’m so excited to share a Happy Fall Banner project with you. It almost fall! And this handmade fall banner is perfect for adding a touch of seasonal charm to your home or Thanksgiving décor.

I created this banner using one of my own SVG files I designed. So, you can easily cut all the pieces with your electronic cutting machine. I love how it turned out, and I think it would make such a beautiful centerpiece for a mantle, entryway, or even a party backdrop.

Supplies Used

For this project, I used a mix of cardstock from CutCardStock.com in rich, autumn colors:

Other supplies:

  • Foam tape & foam squares
  • Liquid glue
  • Khaki-colored twine

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Cut the Pieces

Using my SVG file, I cut all the banner pieces with my electronic cutting machine. Once cut, I grouped them by type (leaves, acorns, pumpkins, and letters) to make assembly easier.

Step 2: Assemble the Leaves 🍁

  • Layer the brown leaf outline on top of the green leaf base using thin foam tape strips for dimension.
  • Repeat the process for both leaves.

Step 3: Put together the Acorns 🌰

  • Glue the brown outline of the acorn top over the light brown piece.
  • Attach that layered piece to the dark brown acorn base with thin foam strips.
  • Add the small highlight piece with a thin foam stip for extra dimension.

Step 4: Create the Pumpkins 🎃

  • I then glued the Tangy Orange outline to the light orange pumpkin base.
  • Added the green leaf accents with liquid glue.
  • Attached the brown stems with foam squares for dimension.

Step 5: Add the Letters ✨

  • I cut the letters from Black Licorice cardstock.
  • Foam squares gave each letter a raised effect.
  • Center on each pumpkin to spell “HAPPY FALL.”

Step 6: String the Banner 🧵

  • Thread khaki-colored twine through the one leaf first, then the pumpkins that spell “FALL”, and finish with another leaf.
  • For the “HAPPY” portion, thread one acorn, then each lettered pumpkin piece, and finish with another acorn.

Tip: Start threading from the last piece backward. This way, you don’t have to cut your twine first — just keep it on the roll until you’re done!

Final Thoughts

I had so much fun designing and making this Happy Fall Banner. The mix of pumpkins, leaves, and acorns gives it such a festive autumn look, and the foam tape really adds great dimension. I know this piece will brighten up any fall celebration, and I can’t wait to use it for Thanksgiving.

If you try this project, I’d love to see your version! Share your banner and tag me so we can inspire more crafty friends together. 🍁

Happy crafting,
Tiffani ✂️
