A Sweet Crafty Journal
Hello CutCardStock friends! Have you browsed through all of the wonderful colors of cardstock that are carried in the CutCardStock store lately? I have, and there’s a color for every project! Birgit here with you today, with a sweet Crafty Journal I made, using beautiful colored cardstock found at CutCardStock.

The Supplies:

I am using 80# DCS Blue Calico, 83# Lessebo Sweet Mint, 83# Lessebo Bubble Gum Pink, 80# DCS Poodle Skirt Pink, 80# Classic Crest Neenah Solar White cardstock and 1/4″ Score-Tape Premium Double-Sided Adhesive, which is in the Adhesives section.
Die Cutting the Journal:

I recently purchased this fantastic file folder die set from Sizzix. It’s a Snap and Swap Die set that has interchangeable tabs which you secure into place, to cut a cascading array of tabbed file folders. It’s truly a genius idea! So, to begin with, cut each tab folder using the different colors of cardstock.

Creating The Journal:
Once all the folders are cut, fold and score each folder using a bone folder.

Cut a cover panel using 80# DCS Poodle Skirt Pink. Score this panel, giving it a 1/4″ gusset in the center.

Apply the Score-Tape to the 1/4″ space in the center of the cover.

For extra adhesion, apply liquid PVA glue to the 1/4″ strip of Score-Tape. This is a flexible book binding glue that works well for journal making.

Insert the tabbed file folders into the center of the book, holding it together firmly for several minutes to allow the glue to set.

Next, cut the file folder tabs out of Classic Crest Neenah Solar White cardstock and apply to each of the tabbed folders, as seen in the photo below.

The crafty journal is really starting to take shape!
Decorating The Journal:

This pretty floral print is from Patchwork Roses collection from Uniquely Creative. The colors in this print coordinate with the cardstock colors perfectly. I cut the panel 1/4″ smaller than the cover and rounded the corners using a corner rounder and adhered it to the front of the craft journal.

Continuing on, I die cut each of the label pieces out of DCS Blue Calico, DCS Poodle Skirt Pink and Classic Crest Neenah Solar White cardstock.

Each piece of the frame was layered onto the front cover of the craft journal using Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

Now it’s ready to decorate using these pretty floral die cuts from the Patchwork Roses collection from Uniquely Creative.
The Finished Craft Journal:

I think this craft journal turned out super cute! The cardstock colors go so well with the colors of the patterned paper.
