A Shaped Hot Air Balloon Card
Hello crafty friends! Do you enjoy making shaped cards? Quite often I get stuck in making standard shaped cards, so it’s fun to break the norm to make a shaped card. Birgit here with you today showing you how you can use your shaped dies to make a fun shaped hot air balloon card.

The Supplies:

As you’ll see in the photo above, I’ve listed the colors I used to make this card. A few other colors were added in and linked below in the body of the post. Let me show you how this card came together.
Creating the Shaped Card Base:

I started by creating a standard A2 sized card base using 80# Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I’ve scored it at the top for a top folding card.

To die cut your shaped card, allow the die to hang off the folded edge then run it through your die cutting machine.

You’ll see that I have a card base that’s folded at the top. Next, I die cut a piece of 83# Lessebo Arctic Blue cardstock using the full arch shaped die and glued it to the front of the folded card base.
Creating the Card:

I die cut the balloon out of 83# Lessebo Sweet Mint card stock and colored the two thinner striped pieces using a Copic marker, in a shade darker than the card stock. I also colored the basket. The clouds and banner were cut out of Neenah Solar White card stock, I then colored the banner using a Copic marker as well. Next I glued the hot air balloon together using Tombow Mono Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue.

After assembling the card, I finished it off by cutting another banner out of 83# Lessebo Lilac card stock. I stamped the sentiment onto the lilac banner and added a few flowers, leaves and a trio of hearts.

The Finished Card:

The shaped card is now finished and I think it turned out so sweet!
