Hexagon Shaped Card to Send Cheer!
Happy Wednesday, everybody! I hope you’re having a great week. Are you still getting cold weather where you are? It’s been pretty chilly here and great for staying inside to craft! Leslie here, sharing a tutorial for making a hexagon shaped card to send a little cheer. Fun folds are actually my favorite kind of cards to make, and next on that list are shaped cards. They are so fun and really pack a punch. I used our Neenah Fluorescent White Cotton cardstock for the stenciled climbing rose panel. Next up are Pop Tone Tangy Orange and Pop Tone Jellybean Green. And, of course, I used Neenah Classic Crest Solar White (110# and 80# weights) for my card base and inside panel. Oh, and there’s a tiny bit of our Glama Natural Translucent Vellum under that front sentiment. 😉

Create Focal Panel
Cut an A2 size panel of Neenah Fluorescent White Cotton cardstock. Place it on a sticky mat and then a magnetic metal surface to hold it in place. Create the focal panel using climbing rose stencils, crackling fire and peeled paint distress inks, and a couple blending brushes.

Cut Hexagon Shaped Card Base & Layers
Next, using a set of hexagon dies, cut the card base from Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White. Be sure one long edge is slightly off the fold of the cardstock so it isn’t cut the card base in two. Also cut a layering panel the same size from the 110# weight and one more from 80# Solar White.
Similarly, cut two same size panels from Pop Tone Tangy Orange and two more from Pop Tone Jellybean Green.

Cut Focal Panel
Die cut the focal panel from the stenciled climbing rose piece. Afterwards, trim a 1/8″ frame from the outside of the leftover negative space along with a strip for the top of the inside panel.

Adhere Layers
For the front, adhere one of the green panels and the frame to one of the orange panels.
Now, for the inside panel, adhere the strip cut from the leftover stenciled piece to the top. Add a very thin strip of green cardstock and adhere it to the other green panel.

Add Stamping
Stamp the front sentiment in orange ink on a scrap piece of Solar White cardstock and cut it with the coordinating die. Adhere it to a scrap piece of Glama Natural Translucent Vellum and trim around the edge. Add it to the front panel, popped up on an adhesive foam strip.
Finally, stamp the inside sentiment in orange ink directly onto the inside panel.

Complete Hexagon Shaped Card
Let’s complete the card by adhering the panels to the front and inside of the card base. Pop the front panel up on adhesive foam strips, and add a few clear gemstones.

Summing up, these are the other products I used:
