Inlaid Butterflies

Hello crafty friends!

It’s Ceal, here. Today is my last post for CutCardStock. I have enjoyed my time on the team but it’s time to move on. The cards I am sharing today are ones that I made while attending the virtual Winter Retreat over at Concord & 9th. This one is a labor of love because it takes quite a while to cut all the pieces. It also takes time to place them back in. I have to say though it is a very relaxing process especially if you love puzzles because it is a lot like putting a puzzle together. When you are all done cutting out the pieces you have lots of pieces to make multiple cards. I am sharing two that I made.

I used Lessebo cardstock for both the cards. The top card I used all the colors I cut out. The colors include Basis Aqua, Lessebo Hunter Green, DSC Granny Smith, Lessebo Bubblegum, Lessebo Blossom, Lessebo Sunflower, Lessebo Amethyst and Neenah Solar White.

Look at all the other cards I can make just by cutting out different colors of cardstock. The top card I choose to make the butterfly colorful by placing the colored cardstock in the negative space. I placed the white pieces back in the negative spaces around the butterfly. Except for the leaves I used the Hunter green.

For the second card, I chose to use only two colors Lessebo Amethyst and Lessebo Blossom because it is going to my niece for her birthday. What little girl doesn’t love pink and purple? I love the Lessebo cardstock, it’s a good weight and there are pretty colors to choose from. I hope you will give the Inlay dies a try, Concord and 9th has a lot to choose from and they are relaxing.
