Easy Card to Welcome Baby!

Hi there my fellow CutCardStock Lovers! I know that it is almost Thanksgiving, and I should be sharing a fall themed project. However, I decided to share something a little different today. Misty here with you today! Do any of you have a friend or family member who is pregnant? How many of you have procrastinated to the last minute to put together a gift for that bundle of Joy? (I am the one with both hands raised high!) We all know that babies come year round. We also know that they don’t care if it is in the middle of the holidays! That is why I put away all of my warm fall colors and pulled out some baby blues! Time to make a cute and easy card to welcome baby boy!

Boy Or Girl?

My niece is pregnant with a baby boy due in January. Obviously, my colors were blues and browns for a bouncing baby boy. However, you can used whatever color your choose! Pinks would be SO SUPER ADORABLE especially in the ears! Anyway, since I have a great-nephew on the way…BLUES it is for this card! I pulled out my Lessebo Colors Premium Cardstock and selected the ones that I would use. CEMENT GRAY , PITCH BLACK , ARCTIC BLUE, and Premium WHITE, were the ones that I chose.

Next, I found the perfect baby elephant on my Cricut Design Space. I didn’t want to deal with paper piecing or any of that mess. I found a simple cutfile that just needed to be cut, layered in order, and viola! DONE. Wanted a truly EASY card to welcome baby! Here is the file that I used. #M505E17B2 — I do not know the designer, just LOVE her work. It is easy for lazy crafters like myself! Below you can see that I even split my cardstock and to get this step done with only TWO mats!

Inside Greeting?

What did I want to say? I decided to keep that simple, too! Welcome Baby. that’s easy, quick, and says it all! I used Lessebo Colors again for the inside message. This time, TAUPE and ARCTIC BLUE were the chosen ones! The message layered onto the shadow would be perfect for high impact with little work! Did I mention that I procrastinated on this card for this baby shower? At this point, I had only 30 minutes to get there, so I needed to get a move on! I layered and glued all the pieces that I had just cut out.

Finishing it Up

I found the perfect complimentary striped paper deep in my stash and put it all together. I love how it came together and I am definitely to make another one! once it was all assembled, I signed it, tied a bay blue ribbon around it, and headed out. I zoomed out of my house just In time to make it to the Baby shower~Fashionably Late!
I made this card in less than one hour and you can, too! I suggest starting with a trip over to the CutCardStock Store to gather your supplies. Oh, and this month, all Lessebo Colors Premium Cardstock is on SALE!!! YAY!
