How “MUSH” Do You Love Halloween?
Hi Sharon here, back with some spooky goings on. My scene today shows a spooky Halloween house with brightly colored mushrooms popping up in front of it.

This is another of Craft with Sarah’s Halloween collection cutting files. I am using lots of different CutCardStock products to build the scene. As I always like to do, many of these are scraps. Let’s get to it!
First we need to build our background. This is made up of 3 parts I am using Lessebo Navy Blue, Pop-Tone Black Licorice and Wild Cherry.

First we will glue the red house section at the back of the silhouette using Tombow Mono Glue. When we turn this over it looks like spooky red lights shining through the windows. This piece then needs to be affixed to the Navy blue which is the backing of our scene. I am using double sided foam squares for this.
If you look at outlines of the main pieces you can work out where to start building the mushrooms. The first part of these are cut from Discount Card Stock in Sandcastle. Again use foam squares to adhere these in place.

The perspective of the scene is starting to build. Now to add some bright colors. I am using scraps for the remaining pieces.
There are three pieces of grass and leaves. The first of these are cut from Pop-Tone Jelly Bean Green and adhered with foam squares. Next we are going to cut a darker section using Royal Sundance in Emerald. The brighter colors come in now using Blue Raspberry. Cut and glue the final grass piece in place with Tombow.
There is a tiny ladybug sitting in the grass. Cut him from Black Licorice and Wild Cherry with Lessebo Ivory behind his eyes. Place him in the curve of the grass with Foam Squares.

Let’s now build some mushrooms. Are they mushrooms or toadstools? I’m not sure but they do have frilly bits and Lessebo Ivory is great for these. Glue in place with Tombow.

To give them more dimension The next layer, which will be the spots, are cut again from Ivory but added in place with foam squares.

Now for the fun colors I am building a pink, a blue and a yellow mushroom, with gradient colors. First the pink is going to be cut from Pop-Tone in Pink Lemonade, Cotton Candy and Razzleberry.

The yellow is Lemon Drop, Orange Fizz and Wild Cherry.

Last but not least make the short little blue one from DCS In Splash (reverse side up so no shimmer), Lessebo Amazon and Lessebo Navy Blue. All these layers need to be glued in place with Tombow.

You can easily make this design less spooky by changing up the colors of your background.

Just look at the dimension you get when using different adhesives.
