Back to School Gift Basket

Our kids will be going back to school in no time. What better way to celebrate a new school year than giving them a handmade basket gift filled with goodies! Hello, Jessica here and today I am sharing a super cute gift basket. I used metallic cardstock and filled it with pencils, post-it notes and candy!

I found a die in my stash that cuts pieces to put together a little basket! It has handles and everything. This Stardream Metallic Amethyst cardstock is gorgeous for the basket base. I love this entire line of shimmery cardstock because it is nice and heavyweight and perfect for 3D projects.

One thing you want to make sure you do is really give the fold lines a good crease with a bone folder. This cardstock is thick and won’t make nice sharp corners if you don’t crease it well.

Look how cute it is as this little basket starts coming together!

I like to use double sided tape rather than liquid glue when putting together 3D projects. I am too impatient to wait for the glue to dry!

Once I had the basket put together, I started working on the finishing touches. This die set came with pieces to put over the top of the basket and the reinforcers for the holes. I cut them from Amethyst cardstock also, but did some ink blending to add a deeper purple to the project. A photopolymer grip mat is awesome when blending onto die cuts so they don’t move all around.

I added a small tag (cut from Stardream Metallic Kunzite cardstock) with the sentiment “for you from me.” Next, I added some twine and filled the basket up with goodies! Your Back to Schooler is going to love this little gift to start their year off right!
