Say it with Flowers

Hey crafty friends!

It’s Ceal, here. Today I am sharing a card that uses several colors of the cardstock we carry along with a Banana Split envelope.

Do you love die cutting? I love die cutting and piecing together. To me, it is very relaxing. I know to some people, they consider it tedious and do not like it at all. There are so many die sets out there where you piece them together to achieve a beautiful card. My card uses a set that from Concord & 9th and is exclusive to Scrapbook.com.

This die set comes with a cover plate that makes a pierced panel you follow to add your die cut pieces, but I’ll tell ya, that all by itself along with a large sentiment would make a beautiful card as well.

To make this card, I started with a Neenah Classic Crest Solar White precut and scored A2 card base and a panel of Lessebo Arctic Blue.

For the flowers and leaves I used the following colors. DSC Raspberry Ice, Basis Light Yellow, Lessebo Sunflower and DSC Smooth Granny Smith. I had so much fun putting all the pieces together on the panel. It was kinda like a kiddy puzzle with putting the pieces in the area that they go. I also added additional dots on the side, the top and bottom had three dots but the side only had two and so for the purpose of making it more uniform I added an additional dot to the side as well.

To finish the card, I added the greeting in a bold black ink for a contrast to the colorful background. Although this card is for a friend, I may have to make another. I love the bright colors against the blue background.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I love the colors that you used in this card, excellent combination! Cheerful, fun, and exciting! I love, love, love die cutting!!! I guess I am considered old school, but I find it relaxing and fun. I have hundreds of dies, mostly not organized, lol. I enjoy using several different dies to create something unique. CutCardStock has really beautiful quality cardstock. I shop every chance I can. Thanks for sharing your beautiful card, it is inspiring and I will look for that die set.
