Festive Independence Day card

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday – and can you believe we’re on a rapid downslide to the end of June already?! Leslie here, sharing a tutorial for making a fun Independence Day card since it’ll soon be here. I used Cherry Red, White, and Navy Blue from our Lessebo line paired with our Bright Silver Foil cardstock. The Lessebo colors and weight are wonderful and I have to tell you it’s my new favorite cardstock.

Cut Card Base, Layers & Strips

Start by cutting a standard A2 size side-folding card base and front and inside layering panels from Lessebo White cardstock.

Next, cut a front layering panel from Bright Silver Foil cardstock.

Similarly, cut an inside layering panel from Lessebo Cherry Red cardstock.

Finally, cut a variety of strips for the front from the Cherry Red, White and Navy Blue cardstock. Also cut an embellishing strip for the inside from the Bright Silver Foil cardstock.

Embellish Panels

Adhere the red, white and blue strips in a diagonal fashion to the front white layering panel. Then layer that panel onto the silver foil panel.

For the inside panel, adhere the silver foil and navy blue strips across the top. Then again, layer that panel onto the cherry red panel.

Add Stamping

Stamp the fireworks burst in the upper left quadrant of the front panel in dark blue ink. In similar fashion, add a stamped sentiment (cut with a stitched rectangle die) to the bottom of the front panel.

Additionally, stamp the inside sentiment in blue ink directly on the inside panel.

Complete Project

Affix the front panel to the card base and add several silver pearls.

Afterwards, adhere the inside panel to the inside of the card base, and this will complete the project.

Summing up, these are the other products I used:
STAMPS: The Project Bin Red White & Boom stamp set
INK: Catherine Pooler Juniper Mist ink
DIES/PUNCHES: Scrapbook.com Long Strips Decorative Die Set, Keep It Simple Stitched Rectangles Nested Dies
ACCESSORIES: Fiskars 12″ ProCision Rotary Bypass Paper Trimmer, Elmer’s Craft Bond Tape Runner, Bearly Art precision craft glue, MISTI stamp tool, Big Shot, Kat Scrappiness Silver Pearl Mix
