“Our Tree” Scrapbook Layout
Hello and Happy Monday to you all! Misty (@Mommyofkidz) here with you today sharing a new 12×12 scrapbook layout. For the last month or so, I have been focusing on traditions that I share with my family. These have been a prominent topic of discussion in my house lately, with my kids reminiscing about the old ones and commenting on some of the new ones. As they grow older, we have let go of some that were favorites when they were younger, such as going to take pictures with Santa. Consequently, we have adapted some new ones over the years, which they have also grown to love. This year, we have decided to host a wine tasting evening with the older kids, which they are all super excited about!
Since we have been talking about our traditions, so much, I began to realize that I have not really ever added them to any of my family photo albums. Therefore, that is what I have been scrapbooking about all this month and last. TRADITIONS. This time, the tradition that I am scrapbooking about is our Christmas Tree.

Our Christmas Tree…
To begin, I knew that I wanted to use music sheets to help create the foundation. We ALWAYS listen to Christmas music while decorating. In order to do this, I googled “FREE Printable Music Sheet” which brought up a plethora of options. I found one that offered a favorite Christmas song and downloaded it to my computer. Next, I opened that image up and sent it to my printer. I did not want bright white printer paper for this. Instead, I chose to use Old World Astroparche 60 lb Text Weight Paper to give it a more vintage look. After trimming and distressing the edges a bit, I mounted my “music sheet” to Stardream Metallic Onyx Cardstock. It was perfect! This would convey the exact vibe that I wanted to achieve in this layout of this Tradition.

Building the Layout
Once the Music Sheet was printed, all that was left was to gather the other elements for the layout. DCS Gold GLITTER Heavyweight 12×12 Discount Card Stock was perfect for the musical notes that I wanted to add. While that was cutting on my Cricut Maker, my photo selections were being printed on my Epson photo printer. There was a lot going on all at the same time, including a Christmas movie playing while I was scrapbooking! Have I mentioned that I am ALL ABOUT traditions!?? I firmly believe that having traditions is a large part of what unites us. Once I had decided what elements I wanted to add, I began the assembly of the layout.

Preserving My Memories
I always talk about scrapbooking and how much I love it. Yes, it is a creative outlet that allows me to get all fancy with my photos. However, it is more than that. Scrapbooking my photos gets them out of my phone and onto a page that can be looked at by everyone. Even when I am long gone, these memories will still be around for my kids to share with my grandkids. It may even encourage them to create new tradition with their own munchkins!
Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek into my family traditions. I would love to hear what your family traditions are! Even more than that, I would love to see some of yours added to a scrapbook page! Head on over to the CutCardStock store to grab supplies to get your Holiday album started!
