This month I have a little bit different project for you, ink smooching on linen cardstock. Instead of using an SVG I am using a die cut with metallic paper.

Hi, I am Janet from Try it – Like it – Create it, and I will be sharing projects with you twice a month.

The card stock used for the card base was Classic Linen Card stock in Solar White. The linen cardstock accepted and held up to the ink and moister from the smooshing technique. The die was cut from Stardream Metallic Paper in Lagoon.

The Distress Oxide inks were applied directly to the glass mat and spritzed with water. Then the linen cardstock was drawn through the wet ink to get the desired effect. After the card was dried and ironed flat, the die cut was glued into place.

Please visit me at Try it – Like it – Create it to see a video tutorial of the construction and links to suggested materials.

Hi, I am Janet. I am married to my husband Dan and we have two teenaged girls. Nowadays I work from home. I have always loved to create. As a child, one of my favorite things to do was talk my mom into a trip to the craft store. I took my love of art and craft and studied Graphic Design in college. Then I pursued an MFA in Graphic Design and an MS in New Media. I left a prosperous career as a college professor to raise our girls. Looking for a creative outlet, I started a website; Try it - Like it - Create it
