Holiday Tag – Gift Card Holder
Holiday crafts are so much fun! I know a lot of us give gift cards at the holidays and I’m always looking for new ways to present them. For my project today, I made a tag with a gift card holder. These are great to hang on the Christmas Tree or even hanging on to a package.

I used several shimmer and glitter cardstocks from Cut Cardstock for this project. To start with, I used the Curious Metallic Ice Gold and Stardream Metallic Mars cardstocks for the base of the tag.

I cut out the tag from the Mars and Ice Gold cardstocks. I wanted to use a background die, and I had this slimline background die that will work perfectly for this tag. I cut the tag first and then used the background die on that tag so it would fit perfectly on top of the other.

I did not want to cover the entire tag with the Ice Gold, so I used my paper trimmer and just trimmed it down on a diagonal and then adhered it to the red tag base with liquid glue.

For the next part, I used the Gold Bright Foil Cardstock and Green Glitter cardstock to cut out the word “Joy” and its shadow to put on the front of the tag.

Now, to the back side of the tag! I turned the tag over to put our gift card holder piece on. For this piece, I cut out another tag using the same die, but with the green glitter cardstock and then cut it on the diagonal with my paper trimmer. I used 1/8″ double sided tape on the back of the green piece – but only the sides and bottom. The top should not be adhered down because this is where the gift card will slide in.

For the last piece on the back, I cut a piece of the Mars metallic cardstock the width of the tag and just big enough to put “to:” and “from:” on it, so I would have a place to write names. I white embossed this on that piece and then used liquid glue to put that onto the green glitter.

I added some ribbon, twine, and sequins and our project is done!
