Set of 4 All Occasion Insert Cards

Hey everybody! Happy Wednesday! Have you ever heard of an insert card? I hadn’t until recently, and they are super easy and fast to make with an electronic cutting machine. Leslie here, sharing a tutorial for making a set of four all occasion insert cards. I was recently gifted a Cricut Joy (the little sister to my Cricut Explore Air 2) which I used to make these cards. Two are Christmas cards, one is a congrats card, and one is a friendship card. I used Cougar Smooth White and Basis Natural for the card bases (two of each). I used Blue Raspberry, Sweet Tooth, Lemon Drop and Wild Cherry from the Pop Tone line for the inserts. Each card has a stamped sentiment inside.

Create Card Bases

Using an electronic cutting machine, cut the A2 size ‘Peace and Joy’ and ‘hello’ card bases from Cougar Smooth White.

Similarly, cut the ‘Congrats’ and ‘Merry Cat-Mas’ card bases from Basis Natural.

Note the ‘hello’ and ‘Merry Cat-Mas’ card bases both utilize the drawing feature with a black pen on the machine. This is done prior to cutting on the machine I used, and may vary depending on the brand of machine.

Cut Inserts

Use a paper trimmer to cut four 4″ x 5-1/4″ inserts from Pop Tone Blue Raspberry, Sweet Tooth, Lemon Drop and Wild Cherry cardstock.

Next, create a rainbow holographic insert by running a foil transfer sheet through a laminator on a toner sheet. Trim and adhere to the Sweet Tooth insert.

Add Inserts to Card Bases

Slip the inserts into the card bases utilizing the slots in the four corners.

Stamp Sentiments to Complete Project

Stamp a sentiment in black ink on the inside of each card base, which will complete the project.
