Cups of Christmas Love

Are you looking forward to the Holiday season this year? I most definitely am! I make Christmas cards all year round but this time of year, it is almost exclusively Christmas. This is my first Holiday card of this season, a stack of cups filled with brown and gold shaker bits. Full of coffees and tea, the card is accented by poinsettias, holly, and other greenery. Let’s take a look at how I created this one.
Before we start, here’s a closeup of the finished card showing the beautiful cardstocks.

I chose a set of dies from Kat Scrappiness called, Cuppa Love Shaker Dies. I thought this set would work nicely stacked together on a slimline card so I began with that in mind.

I cut an 8 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Stardream Metallic Crystal and ran it through the Spellbinder’s Scenic Poinsettias 3D Embossing folder. I cut several poinsettia flowers, berry stems, holly, and fir tree stems using the Spellbinders October Large Die of the Month. I used two red cardstocks – Stardream Metallic Jupiter and Stardream Metallic Mars cardstocks. The green cardstocks are Stardream Metallic Fairway and Pop Tones Jellybean Green. I cut berry stems out of Silver Bright Foil Card Stock.

I added red jewels to the silver stems and arranged the flowers and clusters of greenery.

Next I cut the cups using Pop Tones Red Hot cardstock and the frames from the Kat Scrapiness Cuppa Love paper pack. I cut acetate tops for the backs of the frames. Then I used two layers of 1/8″ double-sided foam tape on the back of the frames. I filled the shakers with Kat Scrappiness Chocolate Sprinkles Sequins and some stars from my stash.

The completed cups are below.

I made an 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ slimline card base out of Pop Tones Red Hot. Then I stacked the cups akimbo and heat embossed the sentiment in gold on the Red Hot cardstock.

I arranged the remaining elements on the card front. I love that this set includes the tea bag and the spoon. They’re special touches for this card. The spoon was made with three layers of Silver Bright Foil Cardstock and the tea bag is made of Natural Royal Sundance Felt Cardstock.

This is just GORGEOUS!!!
