Dad’s Day Card with a Cute Pun!

Hey everybody! Are you a pun fan?! Say that fast three times, lol! Leslie here, sharing a fun Dad’s Day card with a super cute pun-y sentiment because I love ’em! If you get our emails, you know that our Basis cardstock is on sale this month. I’m a huge fan of Basis cardstock and we have some absolutely gorgeous colors, so be sure to stock up! For this dad card, I used our Basis Gray cardstock, Basis Burgundy cardstock, Basis White cardstock and Dolphin cardstock, which I paired with some cool masculine patterned paper in my stash so this one worked up quickly!

Cut Card Base and Layering Panels

I cut a standard A2 size top-folding card base from our Basis Gray cardstock along with front and inside layering panels and embellishing strips from Basis Burgundy cardstock. Next, I cut front layering panels and an inside embellishing strip from the masculine patterned paper in my stash as well as an inside layering panel from Basis 80# White cardstock.

Create Record Embellishment

I stamped the record in black ink on Basis Gray cardstock, die cut it with a circle die, and paper-pieced the heart in the center with a scrap of Basis Burgundy cardstock. Next, I die cut four more circles.

Assemble Record & Card Panels

I adhered the extra die cut circles to the back of the stamped record for a little dimension. Next, I adhered the layers together for the front and inside card panels.

Adhere Panels to Card Base & Add Sentiments

I adhered the front panel to the card base. I added a stamped and embossed sentiment strip to the top and stamped a sentiment in black ink on the bottom. Similarly, I adhered the inside panel to the card base and stamped the sentiment in black ink, which completed the card.
