Simple Summer Party Invitations

Hey everyone! July and August is summer party time across the world. For smaller gatherings, I like to create invitations to set the mood and theme of my gathering. These invitations are so quick and easy to put together but make you look like you slaved for hours! Let’s get into how to do it.

These start with crisp and beautiful silver backgrounds made with Bright Foil 10 pt Cardstock from the store. It comes in gold and silver and is metallic on the front and white on the back. It’s a perfect weight and it accepts the 3D embossing folder I used to create the tropical backdrop I wanted. Some cardstocks will crack and break in these folders but this cardstock had no problems at all. I used Dollar Tree Crafter’s Square pop-up stickers which are made of thin balsa wood. These had just the perfect images and bright pops of pink, green and yellow that I had in mind for my invites.

I created the sentiment on the fronts by stamping on Neenah Classic Crest Smooth 80# Solar White Cardstock. Once stamped, I cut them out using a EK Success label punch. Then I cut out slightly larger label shapes in gold Bright Foil 10 pt Cardstock. It’s a nice contrast to the silver that dominates the card. I cut slim border mats using Astrobright Pulsar Pink. This is such a bright pink, only a small amount is needed to create a big tropical punch. I glued the silver cardstock to the pink mat.

I made the A2 card bases using more Neenah Classic Crest Smooth 80# Solar White Cardstock. To make them, cut your cardstock at 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″ on the long side. I love this cardstock for its versatility and smoothness. It’s the perfect weight for die cuts, mats and card bases.

Here’s a closer look at one of the finished cards after I placed all the elements and added a few drops of Cotton Candy stickles. I think it’s just perfect for my summer party invitations! The mix of silver, pink and gold sets just the right tropical mood.

Here’s another look at the finished cards for my party! I know my guests will come ready to have a good time!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you will check out all the cardstocks in the store that I used in these invitations. You can mix and match them to create any party theme you’re looking for. Happy summer y’all!
