Hey everybody! Are you working on those Father’s Day cards yet? It’ll be here in just a few short weeks and I can’t believe how fast the time is flying by! Leslie here, sharing a mini slimline Father’s Day card with you today – one that took less than 30 minutes to make and features more of our Basis cardstock that’s on sale this month. I used Basis 110# White cardstock, Basis Blue cardstock, Basis Medium Blue cardstock, Basis 80# White cardstock and Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock which I paired with some cool seascape patterned paper, clear stamps and a punch in my stash. Let’s get started!

Cut Card Base and Layering Panels

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 6″ mini slimline card base from Basis 110# White cardstock. This is a great mini slim size because it’s ‘legal’ to mail. Next, I cut front and inside layering panels and a narrow embellishing strip for the inside from Basis Blue cardstock. Similarly, I cut a front layering panel and inside embellishing strip from the seascape patterned paper in my stash along with an inside layering panel from Basis 80# White cardstock.

Create Whale Embellishment

I stamped the whale on Basis 80# White cardstock in gray ink and punched it with the coordinating punch. I had several scraps of Basis White and Neenah Classic Crest 110# Solar White cardstock out on my desk, so I punched three more whale shapes. This was a great way to use up those scraps!

Assemble Whale and Card Panels

I adhered the extra whale shapes to the back of the stamped whale for a little dimension. Next, I adhered the layers together for the front and inside card panels.

Adhere Panels to Card Base & Add Sentiments

I adhered the front panel to the card base, stamped the sentiment in black ink, and added the whale and a small enamel heart. Similarly, I adhered the inside panel to the card base and then added a stamped sentiment with two narrow strips of Basis Medium Blue cardstock which I thought added a little interest. This completed the card.
