Hi CutCardStock friends! I sure do love the back-to-school frenzy this time of year. My kids are finishing up high school and college but that doesn’t stop me from getting in those first few days of school supply shopping and first day pictures. If you are getting your kids (or teachers) ready for that first day, then this project is for you!

Treat Pocket Assembly

Let’s start with the pocket. I’ve used the Classic Solar White paper and cut it as a 5.25” by 9” sheet. With a scoring board, I’ve made fold lines at the .25” and 4.25” marks on the long side, and at the .25” mark on the short side.

Then I’ve trimmed off one edge and corners at the bottom long side to form the tabs. Trim lines are shown as the black dotted lines.

While the Classic Solar White paper is flat, I’ve stamped a notebook image on the front. Depending on the recipient, it could then be decorated with stamps or dies, or even hand-written with personal messages.

I’ve also highlighted the edges with light colored markers for shading. Fold the pocket together once your front is decorated, and glue. Set aside to dry.

Pencil Magnet Clips

The pencils will use a .75” by 2.5” strip of Astrobright Solar Yellow, and a .25” by .25” square of both Adobo Orange and Classic Solar White. I’ve dusted the edges of the strips with black ink and a sponge, then stamped names on the strip of Astrobright Solar Yellow.

To make the pencil tip, I’ve trimmed down the Classic Solar White in a triangle shape, then filled in the tip with a fine tip black pen. Next, I glued down the Adobo Orange and Classic Solar White on the Solar Yellow strip ends and let dry.

I’ve glued the pencils to the front of a couple black clothespins. Then I’ve cut a strip of magnet sheet and adhered this to the back of the clothespin.

Let every piece dry completely before hanging them up.

These pockets make great teacher gifts! You could label and attach to a lunch, or hang it from a fridge. There’s enough room for a gift card, a granola bar or needed school supplies!

Take a minute to check out the sale on CutCardStock white and ivory colors this month! It’s a great base paper for all those future school projects – or even as a gift for a favorite teacher. Happy back to school planning, everyone!
