Hello friends! It’s Teri here posting for CutCardStock. Let’s create a colorblock scene card! This type of card is so versatile. Think of the number of images you have that can be stamped on a color block base. The variety of colors is endless! Create your own rainbow card. Check out the depth of the scene using multiple shades of cardstock.

Cut the Base Strips
Start by cutting a variety of strips from the following cardstocks:
PopTone Orange Fizz, Berrylicous, Razzleberry, Bubblegum, Cotton Candy, and LemonDrop cardstocks.
Basis Aqua, Blue, Gold, and Light Blue cardstock
Bazzill Lakeshore Blue cardstock
Discount Cardstock Wild Salmon, Blue Calico cardstock.

Assemble the Rainbow Color Block Base
Attach double-sided adhesive to an A2 size base. Deciding the order of the strip placement ahead of time makes assembly of the card easier. Line the strips up to the side of your card base. Attach the strips, one at a time starting with the bottom strip. Be careful to line them up straight each time you apply a new strip. Trim the base to 4.0 x 5.25 inches.

Finish the card
Once you have arranged all the strips to form color block areas for the sky and the lake, the final step is to black heat emboss the images from Hero Arts to create the lakeside scene. Stamp the scene pieces with Versafine Black ink and add clear embossing powder. The images become shiny once heat embossed. The strips of different cardstocks add such dimension to this colorful colorblock scene card.
Add bling to your creation by gluing sequins or any other embellishment of choice.
