Don’t Forget The Mailman!

The Christmas season is upon us and giving small gifts of thanks makes everyone feel appreciated and special. Show your appreciation and thanks to your hard working hairdresser, news paper delivery person and even the mailman. A little gift of thanks will brighten their day! Birgit here with you today with a simple gift card project that you can add Hershey’s kisses to, to make your gift extra sweet!

Here’s a peek as the products I used today from Cut Cardstock:

Here’s how I made these:

*Cut the Habanero or Bonsai Canvas Texture card stock to measure 9 3/4″ x 6 3/4″.

*Score on the long side at 2 3/4″, 5 1/4″, 6 1/4″, 7 1/4″, 8 1/4″ and 9 1/4″ then turn your card stock to the short side and score at 1″ and 5 3/4″. Cut a window out of the second full scored panel using a rectangular die. I didn’t have one that fit so I used a banner die and then turned it around to cut into the other end, lining it up with the previous cut line, creating a window.

*Cut a piece of clear acetate for the window at 4 5/8″ x 2″, scored at 1/2″ on each long side. Adhere using Score Tape.

*Cut 80# Neenah Solar White card stock in pieces measuring 2 1/8″ x 4 3/8″ for the front sentiment panel and 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ for the back sentiment panel. Stamp your sentiment for the front panel and glue to the top panel using Tombow Mono Liquid Glue. Punch a half circle to easily insert and remove the gift card.

*Fold all the score lines, burnishing them with a bone folder. Apply liquid glue to the two outside edges of the the top sentiment panel, being careful not to add glue where the gift card will be inserted.

*Fold the box portion together, adding liquid glue to the leftover 1/2″ strip. Add your embellishment to the front. Make sure the gift card fits! Glue one end of your box closed.

*Stamp the sentiments and design on the back panel of Neenah Solar White card stock and attach it to the back of the box.

*Cut a strip of Habanero and Bonsai Canvas Texture card stock slightly smaller than the inside of your box. Adhere the Hershey’s kisses to the card stock strip using Glue Dots and slide them inside. Tie your box closed using festive ribbon and you’re ready to gift them!

I hope you’re inspired by today’s project and maybe make up a few of these to have on hand next time you go to the post office or leave one outside for your home delivery person. Maybe even the guy who delivers oil….. Who wouldn’t want to receive one of these sweet and thoughtful gifts?

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you’ll visit the CutCardstock store and sign up for their news letter while you’re there. You’ll be the first to be notified when they post new sales events. If you celebrate this holy day, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas! ~ Birgit
