Rethink Glitter Stripes

How do you create glitter stripes on your cards? Do you cut strips of glitter paper or emboss stripes with glitter embossing powders? Rethink glitter stripes and emboss your glitter cardstock.

This card making technique to create glitter stripes is quick and easy. If you don’t have a stripe stamp try using a stencil.

I loaded Altenew Gradient Stripes Stamp Set in my MISTI and stamped MirriSparkle Silver cardstock twice with WOW! Clear Ultra Slow Drying Embossing ink pad. Next, I heat embossed with WOW! Opaque White embossing powder.

In my experience, translucent powders melt smoother than opaque powders on glitter cardstock. If you have a variety of embossing powders with different finishes, have fun experimenting.

MirriSparkle cardstock has finely milled glitter that is perfect for stamping. Glitter cardstock with a coarser finish is difficult to stamp cleanly.

I die-cut MirriSparkle Silver and Basis Black cardstock with Altenew Hello & Hugs Die Set and added a few Ebony Nuvo Drops. Check out that gorgeous sparkle!

Pop up the glitter card front on foam adhesive and it’s done. This clean and simple glitter stripes card is perfect for any occasion and any gender.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I’ll see you soon with more inspiration!
