Hi crafty friends!
Today I have a Father’s Day card to share using Basis cardstock in Natural, Light Blue, Dark Purple, and Light Brown. I always have a hard time with masculine cards; I’m more of a girly card maker. I think this card would be suitable for a kid to give to their dad on Father’s Day.
I started by die cutting a stitched 4 7/8″x 3 1/4″ rectangle out of Basis Cardstock in Natural.
I then stamped the dog image in the center towards the top of the rectangle I just die cut out. Next, I made a mask with a full stick Post-It® Note. I fussy cut the image out and the center of the image then stamped a cupcake in the center of the dog’s hands.
I kept the center of the mask and placed it onto the dog.
I then took a polka dot stencil and inked over it with Spiced Marmalade, Peacock Feathers, and Mustard Seed Distress Ink.
I carefully pulled my masks off and colored the dog in with alcohol markers.
I then die cut a large double stitched rectangle out of Light Blue and two smaller stitched rectangles with rounded corners out of Dark Purple and Light Brown.
Then I die cut a banner out of Dark Purple.
I used VersaMark to stamp the sentiment “happy father’s day,” and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
I then layered everything starting with the largest rectangle on the bottom. I used foam tape for the banner and the rectangle with the stamped image.
Just a close up of the dog – he is so cute holding a special cupcake. 🙂
I adhered the whole panel to a 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″ card base.
