Wedding season is still going strong and you can never have too many cards in your stash for these monumental events. All you need is a couple of great “go-to” stamps and a simple design to create a special keepsake for the happy couple.
I started off with a notecard I made using Cougar White Smooth 100# cardstock. I wanted to create a couple of light layers on the front of my card, so I first spread some glass bead paste (kind of like texture paste) over a heart stencil for the first layer.
When it dries, it gives this sheer, raised, iridescent look that’s so pretty for a wedding card.
For my second layer, I die cut some hearts in Cougar White and blended some light blue ink over the tops. This gives a little bit of a contrast, but still keeps everything light and airy.
I adhered the hearts over the top of the stenciled hearts and added a “Mr. & Mrs.” die cut I cut from Currency Cover Silver cardstock over the top.
To decorate the inside, I stamped this pretty wooden stamp from Penny Black using my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig.
I left the bride and groom without color, but added a little color to the flowers using my gelatos and some water. I added a sentiment above in blue ink.
This clean and simple card would be perfect with a foil-lined envelope for an extra special touch.
