This month’s Business Spotlight feature is sharing a bit about Cari Redondo from A Work of Heart by Cari!
We sent some questions to Cari to get to know a little bit about her and her business. She offers graphic design, specializing in custom handmade wedding invitations and accessories.
CutCardStock: Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Cari: I enjoy making people happy, being creative, photography, hiking and walking. I work from home, which allows me flexibility to be a stay at home mom and wife. If I had to choose a theme song for my life, it would be “Add to the Beauty” by Sara Groves.
CutCardStock: How has your business evolved?
Cari: My business originated as a craft-oriented business; I crocheted items and made soap. It swung to graphic design when I gave a customer a business card that I had made with the afghan she purchased from me. She asked me to make business cards for her; not long after, I was referred to two different people as someone who might be able to make wedding invitations. At present, graphic design/web/social media work for small businesses and organizations take almost as much time as weddings.
CutCardStock: What is your favorite part of business?
Cari: Whenever a client tells me that they’ve received compliments on my work! I also love when a bride sees her finished invitations and “it becomes so real.”
CutCardStock: What is your favorite CutCardStock product?
Cari: Any cardstock with fun textures, like glitter, wood-grain finish, etc.
CutCardStock: What bit of advice could you offer to someone starting their own business?
Cari: Don’t try to expand too quickly. Build as you are able, focusing on providing high-quality products to your customers.
