Hi Friends!! kel here today 🙂 Welcome to day EIGHT in this year’s holiday countdown series! I can’t believe Thanksgiving is over (for us in the USA) and I’m definitely in full-on Christmas mode!!
Today’s project is a super easy Christmas Tree card made with some of my much loved, and very much hoarded washi tape stash!! haha!! I started with some 80# Cougar White Cardstock. I absolutely LOVE this cardstock and can’t wait to stamp on it or get it inky somehow to see how it holds up!! The texture is so smooth, it’s so wonderful to simply hold in your hands!!
I started by creating some A2 cards with some mats a little smaller than the card. In this case, my mats are 4″ x 5.25″.
After running them through my die-cut machine with a big ‘ol Christmas Tree die, I made sure to keep those tree cut-outs for something for later! I think I’ll play with some ink and color them up!!
Then I grabbed all the washi I could find in Christmas themes and colors, sticking with a bright red and green color scheme, and laid them out over the opening of my card. I wanted to make sure I covered all of the opening, but didn’t want to waste too much and just cover the entire thing… if that makes any sense.
I carefully placed the washi in the middle, and tried to leave the edges un-stuck so that I could easily lift off the card front and stick the washi down securely on the card.
After getting my washi down, I added some pop-dots to the back of the cut-out card front…
… and ta-dah!!! A super fun and bright Christmas Tree card ready to go!!!
It was really fun to play with all the different combinations of washi, and they were definitely easy and quick to put together too!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!! Make sure to stay up to date with the latest news and sales on the CutCardstock Facebook Page!! lovies, =o) kel
