During the summers in the midwest, I remember catching lightening bugs in glass jars. I still enjoy watching them in the backyard.
Lisa M. here today sharing a fun card using CutCardStock Pop-Tone Papers.
I started with paper from Photo Play Paper’s line Summer Daydreams. The CutCardStock Pop-Tones cardstock (on sale this month) were a perfect match to the colors. I had a hard time choosing the papers to use. I decided on (Blue Raspberry, Orange Fizz, and Lemon Drop).
Then I stamped the lightening bugs (Lawn Fawn) on the white cardstock jar. I colored them using gray and yellow markers. I colored the lid of the jar with gray. I also colored the back of the lid on the translucent cardstock with a metallic silver.
For a surprise, I added glow in the dark paint to their bodies and a small halo around it. When the paint was dried I glue the translucent layer on the jar.
I layered the pieces of cardstock to the front of an A2 card made with Basis 110 cardstock. I also added a piece of striped patterned cardstock to the inside the card.
I changed my sentiment to say “you brighten my night”.
I attached the sentiment to the front. To add a little more fun, I attached the jar with a wobble spring.
There is nothing quite like getting mail, especially in a digital world. It’s fun, of course, if it’s the fun kind. I’m not talking about bills or junk, but a special surprise in the mailbox. Why not brighten someone’s day with a care package this Fall? I like the simplicity of this project. With a…
